Poe Fest International is a hybrid event? What does that mean?

After the success of the 2020 Virtual Event, the festival committee saw the value in sharing events with the many thousands of Poe-enthusiasts unable to travel to Baltimore. This year, would-be festival attendees have more options as there are numerous in-person events and virtual festivities. Traditional festival grounds will be staged at Poe House in Baltimore, but virtual tours and other streaming programs are also available. And of course, there’s a gift shop online!

What is your refund policy?

All tours and fees are non-refundable (barring COVID-19 restrictions or shutdown.) In the event tours are canceled or closed, an alternate date will be scheduled or refund provided so that attendees do not lose their place on the tours.

Replacement tickets or changes cannot be provided for people who miss their tours.

Safety and ADA Accessibility

COVID Safety Protocol and ADA limitations

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and City of Baltimore continually update their COVID-19 Guidelines. The festival is an open air, outdoor event. At this time large crowds and people attending public events are strongly recommended to wear face masks regardless of vaccination status, and to practice social distancing where possible.

Poe Fest International will REQUIRE face masks for those entering enclosed spaces during ticketed events. Historic sites do not have modern ventilation systems therefore only people who have been vaccinated for COVID-19 and are willing to wear face masks should purchase tour or event tickets.

NOTE: This protocol may change as guidance from the CDC, State of Maryland and the City of Baltimore evolve. Those traveling to Baltimore from locations out of state should be prepared to follow ALL local guidance.

The festival is an event held outdoors and all tents are at street level and accessible. Sidewalks and ramps are unobstructed.

Ticketed events and tours may be for locations that are historic and thus not ADA accessible, including to service animals. Activities such as walking and stairs may be necessary to view them fully. Attendees are advised to take these challenges into consideration before purchasing tickets as refunds cannot be given to those unable to tour buildings without elevators or ramps.

Please dial 911 for all emergencies. Baltimore City Police and Festival Security will also be present on-site to contact for assistance.

Proof of vaccination is required for some ticketed events, yes. When you purchase your ticket you will be asked to agree to this requirement. Other events that are not ticketed  or do not involve prolonged time indoors do not require proof of vaccination, but you will still be required to wear a mask. Note: entry will be refused and refunds will not be provided to ticket holders who agreed to terms at purchase and subsequently refuse to follow our protocol. Purchase with caution.

Attendees who test positive for COVID after they purchase may request a refund by providing copy of the positive test and ticket order number at contact@poefestinternational.org or replying to your ticket email.

COVID vaccination card (printed or photo) accompanied by matching photo ID. Full vaccination must have been administered a full two weeks before the first festival event. September 23, 2022 is the cutoff.

No.

Printed or image of CDC vaccination card with full dose administered by September 23, 2022. Proof of full vaccination must be accompanied by a matching Photo ID for entry.   Proof of vaccination must be printed and kept with you or a photo ready for display on mobile device.   A negative COVID test is not sufficient to gain entry. As per the terms of purchase, ticket holders for The Black Cat Ball or VIP Death Weekend Bus Tours who do not hold proof of vaccination may be denied entry without refund.
